CAL ELLENOR INTERVIEW

One of the fastest rising prospects in the UK scene, Cal Pacino” Ellenor (6-1) is on the heels of breaking into the international market, with continued interest from Bellator alongside other European opportunities. James always says the audience will get the better of me and I'll crumble but that's the kind of fight I want to be in. I've put myself in this position for a reason, this is why I called him out, this is why I wanted the fight and even more so why I wanted it in Dublin because I truly believe I'm the right kind of person that adapts well to these environments, atmosphere and all that pressure and obviously the crowd will be against us.
I moved into MMA because I had been taking some time out from my training and a friend of mine started telling me about a club he had been attending (TFTMMA) and I had always been interested in the sport from the early days because me and my dad used to watch the earlier UFC events.

I would watch boxing fights on TV and the whole idea of fighting in general really interested me. I got myself a punchbag and it was up in my room in the loft for years growing up, until I eventually joined a boxing gym. He continued to talk about it, saying that he was parading all about Bellator Dublin and was jumping about everywhere when he had pulled out due to an injury from that very event.
Bellator MMA is taking over the European mixed martial arts scene, according to English bantamweight Cal Ellenor. Speaking to Fight & Talk, Ellenor said: It's going to work out even worse for James - he should have just took the beating he was going to get then and handle it like a man.
Meanwhile, the outspoken Faeez Jacobs opened the main card with his bout against Johannesburg's TC Khusu. On the latest episode of Eurobash, www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6l2PlQdKuk Philip De Fries (17:00) spoke about his willingness to take on Bellator's heavyweight champion Ryan Bader ahead of his KSW 50 title defense.

Ellenor later revealed that a concerning brain scan led to his withdrawal from the fight with doctors telling him at the time that he may not be able to compete again. Ellenor addressed the fact that Gallagher had commented on panic attacks before fights and had in past considered pulling out of fights, Cal thinks this is the reason for the injury claim.
I do sometimes think coming from a boxing background can be a bad move for fighters wanting to transition over into MMA. After the trading of insults James Gallagher went back to his own Twitter page and posted Cal Ellenor's Tapology profile with his list of opponents.

Cal Ellenor v James Gallagher takes the main event slot at Bellator Dublin on Feb. You can watch the full Ellenor interview with Fight & Talk by clicking here. Aiming to spoil Gallagher's self-branded Jimmy Show” is England's Cal Ellenor, who steps into the Bellator cage for the first time in over a year, having last fought - and won - at Bellator Newcastle in February.
Many are tipping the 145lb-er to go very far in the sport and not just because of his in-ring skills, his interview ability and out of the ring persona reeks of a Conor McGregor before him and there is definitely that kind of mystique about Ellenor. Ellenor then went on to call out Gallagher for not getting in the cage and doing an interview as had apparently been agreed upon.

Leading mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA today revealed its return to Dublin on Saturday, February 22, with the 3Arena set to host the first European Series event of 2020 in what is sure to be another electric night of live MMA action in the Irish capital.

Not as well known as James on the world level but he's a very dangerous fighter and knocked a lot of guys out in kickboxing and in MMA. The main event will see Ireland's James The Strabanimal” Gallagher (10-1) face Sunderland's Cal Pacino” Ellenor (8-2) in a highly anticipated bantamweight bout, with Gallagher headlining his third Bellator Dublin show inside 12 months.
